Porto is not a big town and you’ll find your way quite easily. Consider 4 main areas:

• East – somewhat poorer and depressed part of town;
• Centre – with its UNESCO World Heritage “Ribeira” and Town-hall;
• North – growing up fast, specially around the new university areas;
• West – the richer part of town with Boavista and Galiza, which ends at the sea (Foz).
